From Enterprise Software to the Factory Floor
PipeGears is built in Montreal by a team with over three decades of enterprise software experience. We've spent our careers connecting the systems that businesses actually run. Now we're making them accessible to AI.
The integration problem in manufacturing hasn't changed in 30 years. The systems work. They just can't talk to each other.
Cabinet manufacturers running EDI over SFTP. Packaging companies on legacy ERPs with no API. Distributors needing Shopify connected to on-premise databases. Industrial operations with MQTT devices that have never seen the cloud.
Every new decade brings new platforms. None of the old ones go away. And the old ones run the factory.
PipeGears was built to solve that. A platform that speaks every legacy protocol: SQL, SFTP, SOAP/XML, EDI X12, MQTT, REST. Governed, multi-tenant, production-grade.
When the AI agent revolution arrived, we realized these systems needed more than integration. They needed a gateway. Not to replace them, but to make them accessible to the AI tools reshaping industry.
That's what PipeGears is now: the MCP gateway that connects Claude, ChatGPT, and Copilot to the systems AI can't reach on its own.
Fred Dumoulin
Founder & CEO
Fred's career in enterprise software started in the late '90s with early research into SSL, high availability, and data center infrastructure. He was a founding member of Coradiant, a Montreal startup where he led development of the TrueSight APM platform (three consecutive Best of Show awards at Networld Interop). He rose to VP Products and was part of the executive team through Coradiant's acquisition by BMC Software.
At BMC, he directed product management for their APM suite, working with enterprise customers across financial services, retail, and technology.
He founded Towerlogic in 2014 and PipeGears in 2018, bringing enterprise-grade discipline to the integration challenges facing manufacturers and ISVs.
Proudly Canadian-Built
